Administrative Questions

How often can I change my electricity supplier?

There is no restriction on changing your electricity supplier, as long as you comply with the regulations and your contract with them.

Could there be more frequent breakdowns or other kinds of problems once we move to a free electricity market?

No, changing electricity supplier does not change the network operator. You will only get better electricity prices, tailored to your individual profile, and a more convenient, transparent and easier-to-use digital service.

What should I do if I move to another site and want to remain a TOKI customer?

You need to let us know a month in advance, and we will take care of drawing up a new contract for you for the new item, which will be on the same terms as your existing contract.

How can I renew my TOKI contract when it expires?

After the contract expires, you will receive an automatic email with an up-to-date offer from TOKI, whereby if you wish, the contract can be re-signed and you don't have to do anything - it renews automatically.

Energy Services

What are the benefits for me?

By choosing TOKI's services and solutions, you not only improve your energy efficiency, but also achieve long-term financial and environmental benefits. We help you to: Ensure proper commissioning: Check whether the plant is producing well or not. Whether it is properly installed, well maintained or equipment needs to be replaced under warranty. Locate abnormalities down to the panel cell level. Detailed classification of faults according to their type. Costing of each anomaly Optimization of inspection costs. Increasing revenue from more energy extraction. Digital map of anomalies with locations according to their priority.

What is the period of performance?

The deadline for energy services is 10 working days.

What are the costs of energy storage?

Installation cost (BGN/kW or BGN/kWh): this is the total cost of an energy storage system, including all components, energy conversion systems, labour, construction and other 'soft' costs. LCOS (BGN/kWh): is the total cost of building, operating and maintaining an energy storage system over its lifetime. Including maintenance costs is important for battery storage technologies that degrade while in use.

What should I prepare before conducting a thermal audit or pre-investment study?

Before conducting a thermal audit or pre-investment study, it is important to prepare several key documents and data. Here's a list of the essentials to prepare:

Technical documentation
- Project documentation
- Documentation for connecting to the network

Operating data
- Meteorological data
- Historical consumption data
- Environmental data

Legal and regulatory documents
Financial documentation
Zoning and location

Preparing this information prior to the start of the audit or study will help practitioners assess the project's performance, risks and potential in more detail.

For manufacturers

What are the deadlines for joining the TOKI balancing group?

For existing plants, the connection deadlines are from the first to the tenth of the month, if the process at the ORM passes successfully, the Contract comes into force on the first of the following month.

If the plant is new or under construction, you must certify that the plant is energized. We then submit an application to ORM for connection to a balancing group, and they notify us of the timing of the plant connection.

Green energy and sustainability

Is it true that green energy is much more expensive?

The answer to whether green energy is more expensive depends on a variety of factors, including region, generation technology, infrastructure costs, etc. In the past, producing green energy (e.g., through solar or wind installations) may have been more expensive than traditional energy sources.

However, with advances in technology and increasing competition in the sector, green energy prices are often levelling out or even becoming more competitive with conventional energy sources. So, at the moment, the trend is towards greater competitiveness and wider diffusion of green energy.

How do I know you're really giving me green energy?

We are committed to transparency and providing clear information to our customers. Here are a few ways you can make sure that we really are providing green energy:If you have chosen a green energy subscription plan, this fact should be clearly reflected in the contract and in every invoice we issue. We have Guarantees of Origin that confirm that we are providing green energy. These documents are issued by the RESA and their authenticity can be verified on the RESA website. For each MWh consumed, we transfer these guarantees to our customers.

Where do you get so much green energy?

It comes both from our own capacity and from more than 1,100 independent power producers in the Southeast from whom we buy electricity directly. We do not buy green energy on the wholesale market. Our goal is to diversify our sources of green energy to achieve optimal balance and a high standard of sustainability. Our mission is to continuously increase the percentage of clean energy in the overall energy mix we trade. We do this by developing partnerships with more and more producers, as well as by building new plants of our own

How do I get green electricity?

You just need to request a change of supplier by selecting Green Plan from the ТОКИ and voila.

Can I get a certificate of origin for green energy?

Yes, as a ТОКИ Green Plan customer, you can get a Guarantee of Origin, which certifies that the energy you consume is generated from renewable sources. This document is issued by a competent authority and can be used for reporting on ESG standards, corporate sustainability policies or environmental commitments.

Joining ТОКИ

How long will it take me to switch provider?

We work hard to make the process of switching as quick and seamless as possible. You'll only need a few minutes to complete the application, and signing the contract can be done with an electronic signature right away or by signing and sending us a scanned copy of the contract at your convenience.

Upon receipt of the contract, we will immediately initiate the process of switching your supplier.

What does it take for me to switch electricity supplier for my business?

All you have to do is choose a subscription plan and fill out the switch provider form on our website. It will only take you a few minutes.

All you need to successfully complete the form is your company details, an invoice from your current supplier stating your metering point ID and an electronic signature.

If you do not have an electronic signature, TOKI will provide a way for you to sign the contract electronically, or if you prefer, you can sign the traditional way.

Should I contact my current electricity supplier?

The only thing we can't do is terminate your old contract. If you have signed one, check the termination terms in advance and give us the necessary notice, telling us the time limit. TOKI will then take over the entire administrative procedure of the transfer.

What happens if I still have debts to my previous supplier?

The existence of debts to a previous supplier may delay the transfer procedure or postpone it until they are cleared. For your convenience, you can check the existence of debts or interest to your current supplier.

Does the amount of energy my business consumes matter for switching supplier?

The freedom to choose your supplier applies to all businesses, regardless of company size and energy consumption.

When switching to ТОКИ, does the network service provider change as well? How does this affect the quality of electricity supply?

The quality of electricity supply is the responsibility of the Electricity Distribution Companies (EDCs), which have the obligation to maintain the electricity transmission and distribution networks in Bulgaria.

If you have an hourly meter, the network service charge is payable to the EDC. You can sign a declaration and pay this charge to TOCI and we will take care of allocating the charges to the EDC.

If you have a standardised meter you pay all charges to TOCI.

Network charges are based on electricity consumed, according to a common methodology, and are approved by the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission once a year. They are the same for all consumers and do not depend on the electricity trader.

Can I change my electricity supplier if I am a registered farmer/tobacco grower/freelancer/artisan/individual?

Yes, contact us at sales@toki.bg or by phone. 0700 13961 and we will give you detailed information.

Products and services

I am interested in household electricity.

There is no legal obligation for household consumers to switch to a free market. This means that switching for domestic consumers is currently possible, but not mandatory.

Domestic consumers should also bear in mind that the price of electricity on a regulated market for domestic consumers is lower than the market levels of fixed tariffs currently, including the fixed annual plan of the TOKI. It is possible that the future exchange price of electricity will be lower than the regulated market price, but this involves judgement and market risk taking by each consumer. It is possible and likely that the reverse will also be true.

You will only need a few minutes to complete the application and signing the contract can be done by electronic signature immediately or by signing and sending us a scanned copy of the contract at a time convenient to you.

Upon receipt of the contract, we will immediately initiate the process of switching your supplier.

I am interested in the price per kWh that you are offering.

On the website you will find detailed information about the subscription plans for electricity supply.

Your point of consumption. If you would like to receive a specific analysis according to the specific consumption of your business, contact us at sales@toki.bg or by phone. 0700 13961
